About Joshua

Joshua Kuhn is a cybersecurity architect and U.S. Navy veteran with over 15 years of experience securing mission-critical and enterprise systems. Serving as a Radioman and Information Systems Technician, he completed three overseas deployments—two to the Middle East and one to South America—supporting ship-to-shore communications and IT operations aboard guided missile destroyers.

While in the Navy, Joshua managed servers, radios, and network infrastructure—ordering equipment and components directly from the same U.S. manufacturers that today form the backbone of the Defense Industrial Base. Those early experiences gave him firsthand insight into how much the military depends on the reliability and security of its suppliers—an understanding that now drives his work protecting those very environments.

After leaving active duty, Joshua entered the private sector as a SOC Engineer at Netscout, where he specialized in DDoS mitigation and large-scale threat response for enterprise clients. His technical depth and ability to architect resilient systems led him into corporate cybersecurity leadership, eventually joining Mercedes-Benz Mobility AG (MBM). There, he rose to the position of Principal Information Security Architect, responsible for strengthening global cloud, on-prem, and hybrid security architectures across more than 1,100 applications under the Mercedes-Benz Group.

As the founder of Input Trace, Joshua now applies that combined operational and enterprise experience to the U.S. manufacturing sector—helping small and mid-sized defense suppliers achieve CMMC Level 2 readiness.
